Welcome to the very first blog for the Doherty Cruise Network. My name is Tim and I will be your blogmaster, as well as your Cruise Director.
We have just returned from a wonderful 7 day cruise on Celebrity's Millenium. We had 4 couples on this cruise and all of us got along really well. We visited Puerto Rico, Tortola, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. We also had 2 days at sea. The food was great, the service was great (particularly in the dining rooms), the wine was wonderful, the weather couldn't have been better, and the company made the entire week that much better. Winning a few bucks at the blackjack table didn't hurt either.
We have already signed up for next year's cruise. It will be aboard a brand new ship from Celebrity called the Solstice. The ports of call for this cruise will be St. Kitt's, St. Marteen, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ship will sail out of Ft Lauderdale on January 11, 2008. It is a 7 day cruise so we'll have 4 sea days (which I love).
The purpose of this blog is to share information among people planning on going on this cruise. Future blogs will include links to relevant sites, pictures from past cruises, tips on where to obtain the best prices for the cruise and associated airfare and excursions.
Speaking of excursions, the blog will also list possible excursions for each of our different ports of call. (I know we already have some interest in riding a zip line through the rain forest of Puerto Rico).
