First Post - Galapagos Islands

Hi all. I did just a little bit of research today on the proposed 2010 cruise around the Galapagos Islands. I focused on January 2010 since we usually go in January. The good news is Celebrity has a cruise around the Islands at that time. The bad news is that its a really small ship called the Xpedition which has an occupancy of only 98! Verandas are already sold out for early January. Ocean View rooms are still available at $3,099 each for a 7 day cruise. There are other cruises with durations of 10,11, and 13 nights (those verandas are sold out as well).

I only looked at Celebrity and Holland America (no cruises around Galapagos). I'm sure that there are other cruise lines though. This does tell me that we need to start planning yesterday for this cruise if we want to do it in 2010.

More on this to come.

More info on Costco booking for 2009 cruise

See John's email for the form.

Guy’s,
You need to fill these forms out to transfer the booking to Costco….there are no fees involved. This will allow for the $200.00 on board credit and the lower insurance fees as well as a group discount if we get 8 cabins.

Dear John,
Below is a screen capture for those that need the visual. I attached the form each cabin will need to fill out. Please return them to me, via fax 425-657-1901 so that I may add my letter of acceptance to each letter of release. Convoluted I know, but that’s the procedure.

Take care,

Price Information 2009 Solstice

Our Friends,
We have a group plan for the 2009 Celebrity Solstice Cruise! I will need your input as far as interest before I sign the contract. When we get 8 cabins we get an additional discount from the rates included. As you will see, the rate is very good for a new ship, and we also receive a $200.00 on board credit per stateroom. Please feel free to invite others who would enjoy our sense of humor…well that limits the list! Please email me this week as far as interest…I want to nail this down by Friday. If you have questions, please call my cell phone and I’ll try to help. 443 794 8696.

Dear John Doherty,

Attached is your group contract and the booking form for each new booking. The transfer form isn’t addressed on this email. The following email will address that. PLEASE NOTE: The government taxes increased from $40.49 to $83.31. Your individual booking is protected at the lower government tax rate. However, any new bookings (i.e. not transferred over) created will be taxed at the higher rate.

1) Please read the contract and fax back all pages to my attention by 01/28/08.

After I have received the signed contract and reserved the minimum of 8 cabins, I will turn your group over to a FINALIZER, see below. She will be your contact until you sail. You can expect to receive a financial worksheet from your FINALIZER that will list guest’s names, category, cabin numbers (if assigned) and payments. Please review this document carefully and advise us immediately if there are any discrepancies or corrections that need to be made.
